Laser Eye Surgery is a good choice but it is no longer your only option of vision correction to give you freedom from glasses.

Implantable Contact (Collamer) Lens
Implantable Contact (Collamer) Lens

The Implantable Contact (Collamer) lens is an excellent alternative that is removable and reversible which will give you peace of mind. A lens based procedure also does not change the shape of your eye, does not thin your cornea and is thus more stable in the long term. The premise of correcting your vision rather than re-shaping your eye is a sound one.

It is also a good procedure to consider if you want to be eligible for the premium multifocal intraocular lenses that are used after cataract surgery. These lenses perform more optimally when you have not had laser surgery on your cornea.

Cataract Surgery or Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)
Cataract Surgery or Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)

If you are highly short-sighted (myopic) or long-sighted (hyperopic) and are over 45 years of age, you may want to consider Cataract surgery if you already have a cataract or Refractive Lens Exchange if you don't. Both these involve the same procedure of removing your natural lens and replacing it with an intraocular lens.

With these options, a multifocal lens can be placed in your eye which gives you focused vision at distance, intermediate and near without glasses. There is also a toric version that corrects any astigmatism.
